COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The 2011 National Hockey Festival will retain its title as the largest event in the world of its kind, attracting more than 3,500 athletes internationally to compete over Thanksgiving weekend. The 2011 National Hockey Festival will be held November 24th -27th , at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix, Arizona, the same venue that hosted the 2010 Festival.

Registration will open Friday, April 1st, 201. Registration forms will be available on our website at 10:00 am EST. All member clubs in good standing can register their team(s). Registration forms must be received by the National Office no later than April 29, 2011. After 2010 Champions and teams with legacy status, the remaining places will be allocated by a lottery that will be conducted during the week of May 1. A list of teams entered into the tournament will be released by Friday, May 6, 2011.

USA Field Hockey’s “Stay to Play” policy will be in effect.  JBS Destination Solutions will provide complimentary services for hotel accommodations. It is required that all teams book their hotel accommodations through JBS to ensure their place at Festival.

Festival continues to be USA Field Hockey’s largest, premier event with a long wait list of member Clubs wishing to participate. In 2010, it was estimated that over $9.2 million was generated in direct visitor spending to the Phoenix Valley, which included over 11,000 hotel room nights. The Reach 11 complex has 18 lighted playing fields that spans over 33 acres of desert land.

While the registration process for 2011 remains the same as for 2010, the process for 2012 is currently under review. As part of the process of providing an ever better platform, and following many individual and group feedback sessions, it is apparent that the registration policy for the National Hockey Festival requires an overhaul. This process is underway with a goal of achieving a more equitable system for all member clubs for the 2012 event.
